Our Farm

Generations of knowledge, rooted in the fertile soils of West Africa's heartland.

Where It All Begins

Paul Farms sits in the heart of Bong County — one of Liberia's most agriculturally rich regions. Surrounded by tropical forest, fed by reliable rainfall, and cooled by natural shade canopy, our land has been cultivated for generations.

We grow two of West Africa's most prized crops: cocoa and Coffea liberica. Both thrive in Bong County's humid, mineral-rich soils — and both carry the unmistakable character of this place in every harvest.

How We Farm

Traditional Methods, Export Standards

01

Shade-Grown Cultivation

Our cocoa and coffee trees grow beneath a natural forest canopy. Shade cultivation slows bean development, concentrating flavor compounds and producing a more complex, nuanced product.

02

Hand Harvesting

Every pod and cherry is hand-selected at peak ripeness. We never strip-harvest — only ripe fruit is picked, ensuring consistent quality and protecting the trees for future seasons.

03

On-Farm Fermentation

Cocoa beans are fermented in wooden boxes on the farm for 5–7 days, developing the flavor precursors that define premium chocolate. Coffee cherries are naturally processed and sun-dried on raised beds.

04

Sun Drying & Grading

After fermentation, beans are sun-dried to target moisture levels and hand-sorted to remove defects. Final grading is done to international export standards before bagging.

05

No Synthetic Inputs

We rely on natural composting, intercropping, and traditional land management. No synthetic pesticides or fertilizers are used — the land's natural fertility does the work.

06

Community & Family

Paul Farms is a family operation. We employ local workers from Bong County, paying fair wages and investing in the community that has sustained this farm for generations.

Our Heritage

A Farm Built on Generations

Paul Farms was not built overnight. It grew from a family's deep connection to the land — a relationship passed down through generations of Liberian farmers who understood that good agriculture is patient, careful, and rooted in respect for the soil.

Liberia has a long history with both cocoa and coffee. Coffea liberica — the species we grow — is native to this region, and Liberian farmers have cultivated it for over a century. Our farm carries that tradition forward while meeting the quality standards demanded by today's global markets.

Today, Paul Farms is positioned to bring Liberian agricultural products to the world stage — not as a commodity, but as a premium, traceable, single-origin product with a story worth telling.
